Product Description

B vitamins in optimal forms and doses

Due to the large but responsible amounts of B vitamins in Every Day an extra vitamin B complex is usually not necessary. The dosages are also carefully balanced; this included looking at their mutual relationship in terms of daily demand. In addition, account was taken of the extent to which the body is able to convert the various B vitamins, the latest scientific insights and safe upper limits. Each Day contains the biologically active (coenzymatic) forms of vitamin B2 (riboflavin-5'-phosphate), B6 (pyridoxal-5'-phosphate), B12 (methyl and adenosylcobalamin) and folic acid (5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt). The advantage of this is that the body no longer has to convert it - which is not easy for everyone - and they are immediately available in the form in which they are used by the body.

Vitamin B12 as methyl and adenosylcobalamin

The intake of vitamin B12 from food is a complex process. In addition, the ADH (or reference intake) of 2.5 mcg per day is presumably underestimated. There are indications that the vitamin B12 requirement varies between healthy adults and the elderly, and can amount to more than 20 mcg per day. Because of the safety of vitamin B12 supplementation, and the sometimes difficult intake of B12 from food and supplements, in every day is well dosed. Each day therefore contains no less than 130 mcg of vitamin B12 in the biologically active forms: methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin (also called dibencozide). In many multis cyanocobalamin is a cheaper, synthetic form of vitamin B12, which is not found in nature and has to be converted by the body into the active forms.

Folic acid as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate

Folic acid (pteroylmonoglutamic acid), which for stability is mostly used in food supplements, is the synthetic, oxidised form of the natural, very unstable folate (tetrahydrofolate). Folate is the form that occurs in food and is used by the body.Folic acid (from supplements) must be converted by the body into tetrahydrofolate and then into 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Research shows that this complex conversion process is far from optimal for a considerable group of people. Supplementation with 5-MTHF circumvents this problem. In every day the superior form 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, bound to glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®), is used. This binding with glucosamine salt (glucosamine from vegetable source) makes it possible to keep the biologically active form stable and ensures optimal absorption. In addition, 5-MTHF is able to cross the blood / brain barrier, in contrast to the 'normal' (synthetic) form of folic acid. Studies show that Quatrefolic® has a higher water solubility, stability and bioavailability than 5-MTHF bound to calcium salt (calcium L-methylfolate, another active folate compound). Each day contains a generous dose of 300 mcg of 5-MTHF per tablet.

Vitamin D3

In the orthomolecular world, the importance of high doses of vitamin D has been known for some time. Gradually, a flood of unambiguous research results also convince national and European government institutions. Both the recommended daily amounts and the maximum permitted doses continue to increase. In Every Day there is a large dose of 15 mcg per tablet. The most common forms of vitamin D (calciferol) are vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Ergocalciferol is a vegetable form, while cholecalciferol comes from animal sources, but is also produced by humans in the skin under the influence of the sun. These forms of vitamin D are converted in the liver into the metabolite calcidiol (25-hydroxyvitamin D). Calcidiol is converted into the biologically active hormone calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D) as needed in the kidneys and other cells and tissues. In the field of supplementation, however, it is important to know that vitamin D3 appears to be more effective than vitamin D2 in raising calcidiol in the blood and ultimately calcitriol in most cases.

Vitamin K2

Every day contains no vitamin K1 but 30 mcg of vitamin K2. This is the most effective form of vitamin K. Both vitamin K1 and K2 reach the liver well and are used in the blood clotting process. But vitamin K1 hardly or not reaches other tissues. Vitamin K2 has been shown to easily reach other tissues. It has several unique properties which makes it highly preferable to use vitamin K2. Vitamin K2, or menaquinone (abbreviated MK), occurs in various forms, of which the most familiar are MK-4, MK-7, MK-8 and MK-9. According to the current scientific state of affairs, menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is the most effective form of vitamin K2. This is excellently absorbed and remains present in the body for a very long time.

Organic mineral compounds

The mineral compounds for Every Day have been chosen because of the excellent absorption. These organically bound minerals have a much higher bioavailability than inorganically bound (soil) minerals (such as oxides and carbonates) that are found in cheap multis. Examples of organically bound minerals are: citrates, picolinates or amino acid bound minerals (such as bisglycinates).

Lutein and zeaxanthin

Lutein and zeaxanthin are two natural carotenoids. The lutein in Every Day is extracted from marigold (Calendula) and the zeaxanthine from the petals of the marigold (Tagetes). The body can not make these substances themselves and is therefore dependent on their intake via food and supplements.

Citrus bioflavonoids

Every day contains citrus bioflavonoids. These phytonutrients improve the absorption of vitamin C.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a body substance and is found in every cell of our body. Loosely translated, 'ubiquinon' means something like 'everywhere present'. With the aging, the body's own production of coenzyme Q10 gradually decreases.
